Kathmandu the
capital of Nepal is situated at an altitude of 1,336m above sea
level and covers an area of 218 sq. miles. It consists of three
main cities of great historical and cultural interest, Kathmandu,
Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur. Within these cities there are
seven World Heritage Sites declared by UNESCO and the entire
valley is an artistic exposition of graceful temples, elegant
palaces, brick paved courtyards and quaint streets.
